Gullfoss is a waterfall two levels with a total height of 32m (105ft) and one of the most popular attractions in Iceland. Also known as Golden Falls, the river is part Gullfoss Hvítá. Nearby attractions include Haukadalur geyser and Thingvellir National Park. Together, these three sites are called Golden Circle. Due to the popularity of the falls there is accommodation in a nearby hotel, but most visitors opt to stay in Reykjavik and visit the falls on the day trip Golden Circle.
